EXCLUSIVE! Doris Ogala opens up on depression, how prophetess saved her life

Says, ‘I fought the strongest false prophet In Nigeria’

Nollywood actress and Abia State governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2027 election, Doris Ogala, has recounted her ugly experience with her ex-lover, Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, saying she fought the strongest false prophet in Nigeria who almost took her life.
Ogala had called out the clergyman in December 2025 for allegedly dumping her for a younger lady despite promising her marriage. The matter escalated after Okafor sued the actress for cyberbullying and harassment, publication of personal materials, attempted extortion and dissemination of false information against him. The case was later dismissed by the Lagos State High Court.
Sharing her testimony during the 10h anniversary celebration of Apostle Queen Belemzy’s ministry in Lagos, which had Nollywood stars in attendance, Ogala said she gave up everything following the scandal that trailed her widely publicised face-off with Pastor Okafor.

“Then I’d given up everything, I’d given up hope. Nothing meant anything, except that I was studying with my brother. I was depressed, and I was lost.
During last year December, I think that was the most trending story in Nigeria ever. I trended from December 2025 to January 2026. It was a very embarrassing story. And I was an innocent woman.
Everybody was ashamed of me, because it was so embarrassing, and people called me, I felt ashamed for myself,” she said.
Ogala recounted a surreal encounter, stating that she was told by a divine voice that her time on earth was not yet over.

“But one thing God did, even when I cut myself, I was rushed to the hospital, I was there for some hours, handling this issue, got to a point when I had no strength, because I was badly poisoned with spiritual attack. I fought the strongest false prophet in Nigeria.
You know what I’m talking about? Spiritual matters, I know what I’m saying. Literally, my head was like blood. It was over for me.
But God said no, it was not over,” she said.
She narrated how she met her spiritual mother:

“That day, I remember a lady came to me, she called me on Instagram. I usually don’t read Instagram posts. But I read that simple message, and I was crying, she said, ‘I have a woman of God, I’ve been backing you up on prayer, Doris. I don’t know you, but I have a woman of God by name, Jeremiah Eve. She had a similar issue with kids, with false folk. She fought them and she won.’_
When the woman told me about this woman of God that fought the false folk, I researched her. I went on her YouTube and I wrote something, she didn’t respond, I tried to call their number, they didn’t respond, I just gave up.
That night in tears, when everything felt like it was over, I had a dream. I saw the same woman I had searched in my dream, tall, light-skinned, and she came, I was down, she leaned her hand over my head, and she prayed for me.
When I had that dream, I woke up, and I started searching for her. I went to Facebook, I wrote to her on Facebook, and after writing to her, I just forgot about it. All of a sudden, I forgot, it’s like my memory was wiped off, I didn’t even remember.
So after four days, I was sitting down, something just whispered to me, ‘Go check your Facebook.’ I went to open my Facebook, it said I should update Messenger, I had to update it, only to see she had responded.
I called her line, and then she called back. That was how my spiritual mother came into the picture. I touched that, Jesus sent an angel. When I reached her mother, the first thing she told me is that, ‘Ah, I have prayed for God to preserve you, to bring you to me, I wanted to pray for you.’ It was not easy.

“Today I’m here sharing my testimony. If you had seen me in December last year, you would have been shocked. It’s a miracle.”
Ogala said the prophetess stood by her through the trauma.
“On December 14, when I met my spiritual mother. I sent message to her on February 14, 2026, and I started speaking to her from February 18. Don’t think it was a smooth ride, she fought on my behalf continuously, she stood there with me like a shield.
She helped me through that trauma, that storm that came to destroy my life. She was there, and you know why? Because her story resonated with mine. She’s been also a false prophet victim, so she understands the way they work, the way they operate.
So, the first time she prayed for me, my head was… I felt like I had blood. But that day she said on the phone, ‘Put your hand on your forehead,’ it’s another miracle. I put my hand on my forehead, and I prayed, instantly, I had that cough for like a week, instantly that cough left,” she added.
She also spoke about her recovery after surgery:

“Now, let me give you a shocker, I had a bandage here, three days after surgery, you know what surgery is, fibroid surgery… I’ve been through a lot.
After that prayer, I screamed, I just touched it, I said, ‘Mama, I want to remove the plaster.’ She said, ‘No, no, no, no, don’t remove it, it’s just three days.’ I said, ‘Mama, I don’t feel pain.’ She said, ‘No, don’t.’ Instant miracle!
I removed the plaster, the place was dry. I jumped up and down in my room. This surgery was barely few months now, it was three days then. I walked around, and came down, I drove three days after surgery, I went to court, High Court in Abuja, and I made a video.

I will still tell the story, but I want to stir your faith, to believe that God is nearer to those who believe in Him. I will tell you that I am the one that exposes false prophets in Nigeria. I know them, I was in their midst, I know how they operate, they are evil, they are voodoo pastors. But when I tell you that this is of God, believe me.”

Beyond Evangelism: How Felix Bankole’s ‘Displaced’ confronts northern Nigeria’s harsh reality

For Felix Bankole, the story of “Displaced” began long before the cameras started rolling. It began with stories of families uprooted by violence, Christians confronting persecution and communities struggling to survive after losing almost everything.
A filmmaker and drama missionary, Bankole has spent years using Christian media as a tool for evangelism. But with Displaced, he ventures into some of the most painful realities surrounding displacement in Northern Nigeria, using the story of one man to explore grief, faith, abuse, hypocrisy and the search for justice.
Bankole, President of Vision Drama Missions Outreach International and founder of Vision Film Academy, has produced more than 50 faith-based films and taken Christian media evangelism to more than 30 African countries. Yet he regards Displaced as a different kind of project, both in scale and in the difficult questions it asks.
The decision to set the film in northern Nigeria was deliberate. For Bankole, the region is not merely a backdrop for a dramatic story but a place where the consequences of violence, displacement and insecurity are experienced by real families.
At the centre of the story is Haruna, a character whose experiences reflect the realities of survivors who have lost their homes, loved ones and possessions but continue to hold on to their faith.
Haruna’s grief becomes the emotional engine of the film. Faced with devastating loss, he could easily surrender to anger or seek revenge. Instead, his journey gradually takes him towards truth and justice.
That transformation is central to what Bankole wants audiences to understand: suffering does not necessarily have to end in despair or vengeance. Pain, when confronted with courage and faith, can become a source of purpose.
But Displaced does not present its characters with easy answers. The film confronts medical neglect, sexual abuse, corruption and religious hypocrisy, forcing audiences to look beyond the familiar themes of faith and triumph often associated with Christian cinema. For Bankole, this was necessary because the gospel should not be confined to comfortable conversations. Faith, he believes, must also speak to people experiencing the darkest moments of their lives.

The film consequently challenges not only the violence outside religious institutions but also the failures that can occur within them.
One of the most striking examples is Pastor Dauda, whose character exposes hypocrisy and institutional shortcomings. Through him, Bankole turns the spotlight inward, asking difficult questions about the responsibilities of church leaders and Christian communities.
The filmmaker hopes the story will encourage conversations about protecting vulnerable people, financial transparency, abuse and the responsibility of churches to support persecuted Christians.
Rather than portraying Christianity through perfect characters who have an answer for every problem, Bankole said the film embraces realism. Its characters experience anger, grief and uncertainty, allowing the Christian message to emerge naturally from their struggles.
This realism also extends to the film’s depiction of trauma. Bitrus and Hannatu represent different ways of responding to suffering. While one embodies the determination to confront systemic injustice, the other represents healing, endurance and communal support.
Together, their stories suggest that rebuilding a life after displacement requires more than physical safety. Survivors also need justice, emotional healing and communities willing to stand beside them.
Making the film was itself an emotional and logistical challenge.
Bankole said recreating the atmosphere of displacement camps and insecurity required sensitivity from the cast and crew. Some scenes became so emotionally heavy that members of the production team were left in tears.
The experience was particularly personal for Bankole and his team, who have encountered insecurity and threats while working on mission projects, including efforts to build schools and mission houses in vulnerable Northern communities.
Security, locations and the psychological burden of filming difficult scenes all tested the production team. Prayer, Bankole said, became an important part of sustaining the project.
Shot in Nigeria and the United States, Displaced also benefited from cross-border collaboration with international missions and partners. The production represents a significant departure from the more conventional settings of many faith-based dramas, taking audiences into displacement camps, rugged landscapes and environments shaped by insecurity and institutional corruption.
For Bankole, however, the technical ambition of the project is secondary to its message.
He does not want audiences to watch Displaced, feel sorry for the characters and simply move on. He wants the film to provoke action.
He wants church leaders to examine their institutions, Christian communities to confront hypocrisy and viewers to consider what it means to stand with vulnerable people when doing so is difficult.
Ultimately, Displaced is a story about what people do with pain after everything familiar has been taken away.
It is about a man whose grief becomes a search for truth, a community struggling to heal and a faith tested by violence and betrayal.
For Bankole, the film carries a simple but powerful conviction: oppression may destroy homes, violence may uproot families and hypocrisy may wound communities, but none should be allowed to have the final word.
In Displaced, he hopes truth, hope, forgiveness and redemption will ultimately speak louder.
