Three-time Grammy nominee and 2023 BET Best Female Hip-Hop Artist winner Latto, known for hits “Big Energy” and “Put It on da Floor,” is bringing her Atlanta-bred sound and unapologetic star power to Nigeria this December.
Latto, also known as Big Mama, will headline Day 1 of Flytime Festival, powered by Coca-Cola, on December 22 at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.
The organisers disclosed this in a statement made available to reporters.
A celebrated rapper and one of hip-hop’s defining voices of her generation, Latto has built a reputation for commanding the spotlight. She will now bring that energy to the Flytime stage for the first time, making her Nigerian debut in the process.
Interestingly, Latto will mark her birthday on the same day on the Lagos stage. Her Nigerian fans should expect nothing short of the records, the moments, and the kind of Lagos night that deserves a place in one’s December story.
The festival runs from December 22 to December 24 for three nights of live music, global stars and the artists shaping the sound of now.
Latto has been making waves since she was eight years old. In the past few years since signing to RCA Records, the Atlanta-based rapper has released multiple projects, including her most recent critically acclaimed third studio album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, her Gold album 777 and her debut studio album Queen of Da Souf.
Sugar Honey Iced Tea made history for Latto. It solidified her as the first solo female rapper from Atlanta to ever have a No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart.
