Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Tems has revealed the career path she would have pursued if she wasn’t into music.
Speaking in a recent interview with EE72 Magazine, the singer said she would have embraced painting or fashion design , anything that involves working with her hands.
Tems also named Frank Ocean’s “Nostalgia Ultra” as her favourite album of all time, adding that Sade remains her ultimate dream in music.
She further shared that writing music helps her release pain and heal.
According to her, whenever she finishes writing, she feels whole and finds it easier to forgive and move on.
“Writing music helps me release pain and it helps me to heal. By the time I am done, everything I felt, it is gone. I can let the whole situation go. I can forgive. I can move on,” she explained.
Tems also spoke about being unapologetic about her art and herself, stressing that she isn’t trying to prove anything to anyone.
“I am not trying to prove who I am. I know what is for me and what is not for me. I am trying to take everything in and make the best of every single moment,” she added.
